My Restaurant Rules

So anyone catch this? I know it’s on Australian tv, but there are ways of watching the series. Thank god for the internet and bit torrent.

It’s about five couples trying to start a restaurant in their respective home cities. It takes place in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Adelaide. Each couple is given an empty store front and they have to bring it from nothing to a functioning restaurant. They’re given x amount to start out with and every week they have to go to the “bank” and justify why they should get $50k. There’s only one weekly $50k winner, the rest get $10k. Each couple has to budget for EVERYTHING and it’s pretty damn cool. They have to create the menu, hire the staff, justify the prices for each meny item, etc.

Pretty cool… check it out if you can.

Quote of the Week – Pt. 8

“After finding no qualified candidates for the position of principal, the school board is extremely pleased to announce the appointment of David Steele to the post.”

- Philip Streifer, Superintendent of Schools, Barrington, Rhode Island

So What’s On My List?

So, since I’m sitting here at work BORED off my ass I thought I’d give a little update to my current pull list in the world of comics. So here are a few…

4 – by Roberto Aguillar and Steve McNiven – it’s simply one of the best comics out there. It’s about the Fantastic Four, hence the 4. You see it turns out that they’ve gone broke, flat broke. They’ve been evicted from the Baxter Building and have to get real jobs. It’s only on issue three so it’s a great jumping on point, not to mention that the art is simply OUTSTANDING. McNiven’s characters are so fluid and beautifully drawn. His Sue Storm is amazing, she looks like a MILF and a half. Pick it up.

The Walking Dead – Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore – This is is from Image and it’s a great comic. It’s a cross between 28 Days and Dawn of the Dead. It’s about a cop from Georgia who comes out of a coma to find out that zombies have taken over. The fuckers are everywhere too. Sure there are still plenty of people that haven’t been changed over, but millions already have. This is definitely a great comic to pick up.

Wanted – Mark Millar and JG Jones – One of the BEST comics out there. Millar’s writing is superb and Jones’ art goes along perfectly. It’s about an every day Joe, a shlub who lets people walk all over him. Next thing he knows he’s inherited his father’s fortunes and his place in the hall of criminals. Now keep in mind that he never knew his father, yet here he is, involved in a criminal organization that controls everthing. He can do what he wants, when he wants and best of all he gets away with it. Sex, Drugs, Money, Fast Women and Fast Cars…. if he wants it, he gets it. Definitely pick this one up!

Uggh, This Sucks Even More

So work has really sucked big time and to make matters worse I’m getting sick. I hate being here and the news about my dad isn’t good either. Fuck I want to get out of here.
