Two of my favorite things…

Woo hoo, the Venture Brothers has been renewed for a third season, with a fourth most likely. Awsome news.

Back in August, Marvel launched their Civil War series that was set to shake up the entire Marvel Universe. I did a brief review of the start of the series and gave some positive thoughts on its directions. Well the series has finally wrapped up with issue seven and to be honest I hated the way it ended.
After reading the various tie-ins and dragging on of the series it’s sad to say that Civil War meandered in its final issues and unfortunately had an almost impossible task of having to reasonably resolve a number of plots. Unfortunately this killed the ending for me. There were a few instances where people were introduced into an already busy story of which their introduction had no relevance. Did we really need to see Namor and his Atlantean army join the fight? Besides that one page they were nowhere to be found. The Thor clone? Yeah, that was pointless too.
I really, really need to point out how Reed Richard’s letter to his wife Sue was one of the more preposterous things I’ve ever read
Forgive my erratic handwriting. You know how difficult I find slowing my thoughts to a speed where the human hand can translate my sentiments into linear sentences.
I saw you during the cleanup, but felt it was inappropriate to discuss our future while our adrenal glands might still impair our judgment in romantic matters. You looked so beautiful, so vibrant and clear-eyed. I cried for a full ninety-three minutes when I returned home that night.
Seriously…. Are you fucking kidding me?
A total and complete disappointment for me, having gone through everything just so Cap can pull a France and surrender made everything irrelevant. What the hell were they fighting for? In the end it seems as if was nothing. Nothing changed, there are still divisions and there are still those opposed to the government.
Millar could have made a compelling story that pushed the boundaries, but he got trapped in the government is never wrong argument. In the end those that want to curtail privacy and individual freedom won yet in reality everyone lost, only problem is they’re too blind to notice it.
Finally finished FNR3, it was a pretty fun game. Definitely one to keep in the rotation. Now I’m onto Oblivion.
